Experience a captivating two-week journey through Vietnam and Cambodia, where cultural richness, ancient history, and stunning landscapes come together seamlessly. Begin in the lively streets of Ho Chi Minh City, uncover wartime history at Cu Chi, and drift along the lush waterways of the Mekong Delta. Travel north to soak in Hoi An’s lantern-lit beauty and Hue’s imperial heritage before flying to Hanoi. A breathtaking overnight cruise in Halong Bay serves as a scenic highlight before crossing into Cambodia.
In Siem Reap, explore the awe-inspiring ruins of Angkor Wat and the tranquil floating villages of Tonle Sap Lake. End your adventure in Phnom Penh, where golden palaces contrast with poignant historical landmarks. More than just a sightseeing trip, this journey invites you to connect with local communities, explore UNESCO treasures, and embrace the authentic spirit of these remarkable countries.
Touch down in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s energetic southern capital. The drive into town reveals a city in constant motion—motorbikes weaving through boulevards, French colonial buildings rubbing shoulders with sleek high-rises, and the warm scent of street food drifting through the air. After checking in to your hotel, take some time to settle in or stretch your legs with a stroll around District 1. It’s a fascinating mix of old and new—tree-lined boulevards, buzzing markets, and historic landmarks all within walking distance. If you’ve arrived early, a wander down Nguyen Hue walking street or a peek inside Ben Thanh Market is a great way to ease into the rhythm of the city. In the evening, meet your guide and fellow travellers over a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Share stories, ask questions, and get to know the people you’ll be exploring with over a delicious spread of southern Vietnamese dishes—think fresh herbs, tender grilled meats, and tangy dipping sauces. A trip briefing rounds out the evening and sets the tone for an exciting adventure ahead.

Today dives deep into Vietnam’s layered past. Begin with a guided city tour that blends colonial charm and modern history. Stop by the Notre Dame Cathedral, the iconic Central Post Office designed by Gustave Eiffel, and the Reunification Palace, where history quite literally paused in 1975. The War Remnants Museum offers a sobering but important look at Vietnam’s recent history through raw photography and personal stories—it’s heavy, but unmissable. After lunch at a local eatery, travel out to the Cu Chi Tunnels, about 90 minutes away from the city. These tunnels aren’t just holes in the ground—they’re a remarkable network of underground passageways used by the Viet Cong during the war. You’ll learn how people lived, fought, and survived beneath the earth, and even have the chance to crawl through a small section (don’t worry, there are exit points if it gets too tight). Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the late afternoon and enjoy your evening at leisure—perhaps with a rooftop cocktail or street food dinner in the buzzing Ben Thanh night market.

Leave the noise of the city behind as you head south to the Mekong Delta, where life flows to the rhythm of the river. The drive to Ben Tre gives you a glimpse of Vietnam’s rural heart, with rice paddies stretching towards the horizon and water buffalo ambling along village roads. On arrival, board a boat and glide through coconut-fringed canals. This is slow travel at its best—local fishermen casting nets, small boats ferrying produce, and stilt houses perched along the riverbanks. Visit a family-run coconut workshop where sweet, sticky treats are handmade, and sample fresh fruits straight from the orchard. Swap the boat for a bicycle and take a relaxed ride through the peaceful countryside, pedalling past banana groves, duck ponds, and traditional wooden homes. A riverside lunch is served with Mekong flavours—think freshly grilled fish, tangy tamarind sauce, and fragrant herbs. Then, hop on a small sampan for a tranquil paddle along narrow backwaters. It’s a full-sensory day and one that gives you a real feel for everyday life in the Delta. Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the late afternoon with time to relax.

Once you arrive, settle into your hotel before heading out for a guided walking tour through the Ancient Town—a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stroll past mustard-yellow shopfronts, stop by the Japanese Covered Bridge, and step inside heritage homes and centuries-old temples. The pace is relaxed, and there’s something magical around every corner. In the afternoon, the time is yours—perhaps you’ll browse the bustling markets, be fitted for tailor-made clothing, or simply enjoy a quiet riverside coffee. As the sun sets, lanterns begin to glow and the streets take on a soft, golden light. Whether you wander or sit still, Hoi An is the kind of place that invites you to slow down and savour the moment.
